Do you qualify for an NHS sight test?
Many people don’t realise they may be entitled to a free eye examination on the NHS, along with help towards the cost of glasses or contact lenses.
You may qualify if you’re under 16 (or under 19 in full-time education), aged 60 or over, have diabetes or glaucoma, or receive certain benefits such as Universal Credit or Pension Credit. Those aged 40+ with an immediate family member diagnosed with glaucoma are also eligible.
If you qualify, you may also receive an NHS optical voucher to put towards the cost of your glasses or contact lenses.
