NuLids Pro Eyelid Treatment
We’re pleased to introduce NuLids Pro – an advanced in-office eyelid hygiene treatment now available at our Muswell Hill practice. If you suffer from dry, irritable or uncomfortable eyes, this could make a real difference.
What is NuLids Pro?
NuLids Pro is a professional eyelid treatment that gently exfoliates and massages your eyelids using a soft, oscillating tip. The procedure cleans away the build-up of debris, biofilm and scurf that can block your meibomian glands – the tiny glands in your eyelids responsible for producing the oils that keep your eyes comfortable and well-lubricated.
Think of it like a deep clean for your eyelids. Just as you’d visit a hygienist for your teeth, NuLids Pro gives your eyelids the thorough care they need to function at their best.
Who can benefit?
NuLids Pro is suitable for anyone who wants to maintain good eyelid hygiene, but it’s particularly helpful if you experience:
- Dry eye disease – persistent dryness, stinging or a gritty feeling
- Blepharitis – red, swollen or crusty eyelids
- Meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) – blocked oil glands causing poor tear quality
- Recurring styes or chalazia
- Demodex – microscopic mites that can live on the eyelashes and worsen irritation
In fact, lipid deficiency caused by meibomian gland dysfunction is responsible for dry eye in the vast majority of cases. By keeping these glands clear and functioning properly, many patients find significant relief from their symptoms.
What does the treatment involve?
The procedure is quick, comfortable and completely chemical-free. Here’s what to expect:
- We apply a gentle, natural gel to your eyelids
- Using the NuLids Pro device with a single-use disposable tip, we gently clean along your lash line and eyelid margins
- The oscillating tip removes debris and biofilm while massaging the meibomian glands to encourage healthy oil flow
- The entire treatment takes just a few minutes for both eyes
Most patients find the experience very comfortable – many say it’s actually quite relaxing. The oscillating motion is specifically designed to be gentle and won’t tug at your eyelashes.

You should notice cleaner, more comfortable eyelids straight away. With regular treatments as part of your ongoing eye care plan, patients typically report:

NuLids Pro and your eye care
NuLids Pro works best as part of a comprehensive approach to your eye health. Our optometrists will assess your individual needs during your appointment and recommend a treatment plan tailored to you. This may include NuLids Pro alongside other therapies we offer for dry eye and eyelid conditions.
We may also recommend the NuLids Daily home-use device for ongoing maintenance between your in-practice treatments – much like brushing your teeth between dental visits.

- The treatment is safe for patients with eyelash extensions
- Please wait at least 4 weeks after any eye surgery before having NuLids Pro treatment
- NuLids Pro should not be used during active ocular herpes
- If you’ve recently had an eyelid tattoo, please wait at least 3 days
